Fitness is becoming an everyday part of life. We all look in the mirror and see something we would like to change about ourselves, or we don't want our kids to follow down the same path as us. Fitness we would all have to say is not fun and maybe that is why we choose to not do it. What if we could make fitness a game or exercising a game, would you consider?
First, we all know that we make new year resolutions. How about losing weight by getting the fitness package from the Nintendo Wii. On the Nintendo Wii you get a personal trainer who teaches you about flexibility, strength training, and cardio fitness. Next you can exercise by playing games with your children. Exercise is a big part of any age. The earlier you show your children that exercise is important the better. Staying active young at life can help control adult obesity. Some exercise games you can play is relay race. With a relay you can set up stations around your yard. At these stations you would have to stop to complete a task such as jump rope, push ups, or completing a puzzle. This will keep it challenging and allowing you as the parent to get exercise. Another game is playing tag but instead of running you can do lunges. Reach out and touch your children. With exercise games it makes exercising more fun and you can spend lots of quality time with your children and still get in a full exercise and your kids get the benefits of exercise as well.
Lastly, learning about health doesn't have to be boring. You can turn health into a game. We have all heard of the food pyramid. To teach our children about the right foods to eat start out by showing them the pyramid and then letting them pick the right foods. Also there is music that goes along with healthy habits from brushing teeth, to taking a bath, eating correctly, and even about the rest you get at night. Overall health comes from basic maintenance of the body.
In conclusion it is time to get a hold of our physical health. By doing so you can save money from not going to the doctor, yet have fun exercising.
